KATIE GOLDSCHMIDT
Cinematographer

Katie Goldschmidt’s career in cinematography began in 2003, when she served as Director of Photography on Egg, an animated short film that went on to win Best Animated Short at Slamdance 2004. Since then, she has shot everything from narrative to non-fiction to experimental works on both film and video. (see Katie's Reel)
During her four years completing a Bachelor of Arts degree at Wesleyan University in Film Studies, Katie not only served as cinematographer on several other films (The Scar, The War Project, The Anatomist’s Apprentice), but she also wrote, directed, edited and choreographed a 1940s musical melodrama entitled A Star Close to Home. (see Katie's Films) In her junior year, she founded the Independent Student Production Co-op, which allowed students majoring in any discipline to collaborate on a 16mm film production.

Since graduating with honors from Wesleyan in 2005, Katie has been working in Los Angeles on independent feature films, shorts, and music videos. Besides acting as cinematographer, she also freelances as a camera assistant, grip and electrician on film shoots, expanding her experience in all areas of production. (see Katie's Resume)

As a compliment to her passion for cinematography, Katie also has an eye for photography. In her most recent exhibition, Katie showed a collection of photographs taken throughout Spain and Portugal. (see Katie's Photographs)
In the fall of 2007, Katie will attend the American Film Institute Conservatory for Cinematography.
